 By using the vehicle’s existing in-cabin infrastructure, the system performs a short eye-tracking assessment that analyzes signs of substance-impaired driving within seconds – no additional hardware required.

How it Works

The AI determines fitness to drive based on subtle physiological cues linked to alcohol or drug impairment. Results are processed locally in real time and do not rely on waiting for dangerous driving behavior to occur.

Before the engine starts, the driver completes a brief on-screen task. During this moment, Sightic’s AI scans for:

Eye movement irregularities or delayed tracking

Slow or inconsistent blink rates

Abnormal pupil response to light

Unsteady head pose or gaze direction

Cognitive issues such as problems keeping focus on a task

The result: a seamless, non-intrusive screening that fits into the vehicle’s startup routine. If impairment is detected, the system can alert the driver or trigger safety protocols configurable by the OEM.
